Occupational Therapy Insights

Jan 20, 2019

As the world knows, many government workers have been furloughed and are no longer getting paid because of the government shutdown. And today, things really hit home. The Therapy Institute has clients that have been tremendously affected by this since our largest clinic is based in the heart of Washington dc. Today as I was finishing up a session with one of our kiddos, the child’s father said to me that they needed to leave a bit early so that his family could get to the free food bank for furloughed workers.  He went on to explain to me how his position had been furloughed and there is little to no money coming into the home.  So in light of the furlough, any of our clients effected, will not be charge for occupational therapy services. We are not political, but we are empathetic.
