As both an occupational therapist and certified adapted physical educator I have found that certain music has the ability to make an entire room of people move, no matter what their physical or cognitive levels. The beats per minute and instrumentation is a major key.  Listening to music while exercising doesn’t just relieve boredom — it can help improve the quality of your workout by increasing stamina and putting you in a better mood.  In particular, music that is synchronized with exercise is shown to have positive physical and psychological effects.
